York YMCA Names John Nelson as New Head Coach

The York YMCA in York, Pennsylvania has announced John Nelson as the new head coach, taking over for Michael Brooks, who left to take over as the head coach at the North Carolina Aquatic Club at the end of this summer season.

Nelson has spent the last 3 years as a full-time assistant with the club, ensuring continuity through the club after 10 years under the leadership of Brooks.

Before coming to York, Nelson was the head coach of the Charlottesville YMCA Aquatic Club.

Prior stops:

John coached my three sons, in Heidelberg, during their most formative swim years. Swimmers idolized him – parents respected and appreciated him. Well done – congratulations!
