France’s Yannick Agnel was extremely nervous about leading off his country’s relay at the 2013 FINA World Championships. While his flat start time wasn’t great, 48.76, his teammates saved the day, notably Fabien Gilot who clock a lightning fast, 46.80.

Wow his English is actually really good. I didn’t know that.
Keep in mind that his 100 is only a tad slower than he was at French Nationals. No doubt his focus has been on the longer distance, so don’t be surprised if he’s still capable of a 1:44, which will be enough to win.
He has been living in the US for a bit now, and English 24/7 helps you get better quick. As someone who has a foreign roommate, I’ve watched it firsthand.
If teammates were important for Missy, the same can be said for Agnel. Gilot and Stravius, just wow! I predicted France to be at fourth position so I was horribly wrong. Sorry Bobo for such a disbelief.
I had also predicted the rebirth of the Australian team which leads inevitably to victory. My English isn’t enough to find a word to describe how wrong I was. Adrian did it again for Magnussen. It was just like replaying the Olympic final.
Russia was third, just as I predicted (and just as many others did as well) because they wasted their best performances in Russia. Simply put: it was an unwise decision.
Agnel is really a cool guy i must admit .
Yannick was slowest practically of anyone in the top 4 teams. Stravius is the stud French swimmer in anything this summer. He could be a force in 100, 200 free, 100, 200 back and the 200 IM! Watch him this week….especially his turns!
