I was almost right about De Lucca winning the 200 Free. 1:32.57 for 2nd place. Not too shabby.
And that was a big PB for him.I time like that right now…wow!
What about Mr. Adam Mania and Steve Cebertowicz representing DBS?!
There’s no stroke 50’s at this meet, so wasn’t sure if Mania was actually going to show up ;-). #Jokes!
Well, I swam in the old La Pool, there was a odd warm up pool.
Looks like Juniors will be a big meet… maybe. Not many 18 and unders entered in Texas. There are so many standard meets across the country… most swimmers probably staying close to home.
No bonus cuts, no time trials for relay kids, and very fast time standards makes this a difficult trip for 18 and under club teams. After looking at Grand Prix cuts, I’m seeing a pattern.
Those are the reasons that there will be less 18 & unders will be less as more older swimmers continue to swim a sign of the times. Also different then in the past is that you can go to Jrs with a national cut and you can then swim more events. The old system had you going to both meets to get in your best event.
I’m putting my money on De Lucca in the 100 and 200 Free.
You will lose your money to one of the numerous olympians in the 100 and to a non-notable in the 200.
I’m guessing De Lucca will be back in training as well; afterall Louisville had their rest meet. This will be a Portuguese meet for him, not a Louisville meet, per se.
You’re likely right. He must have been rested for the Purdue Invite. I’ll save my money, but I still believe this will be an off-year for the male Olympians.
Well, if what was told about DeLucca doing 49´s in LCM in briefs before Olympics(what made brazlian coaches looks like morons leaving him out of relay…), he is gonna be very good next year.
Right now, i put him in third place for NCAA 100yard next year, behind Morozov and Chieriguini.
with Adrian and Lotche.. hard for him, maybe 3rd place on both.. but I Think he could put up a fight with Feigen..
Olympians all over the place – Tyler McGill is #68 seed in the 100Y Fly – don’t miss those early heats!
Give Braden a break. With a psych sheet like this and so many top swimmers not having SCY meets in the small qualifying window, it’s easy to miss people seeded in the 50s or 60s.
Actually, so is Kim Vandenberg. 19.
