In the semi-final of the 200 breaststroke at the Australian Championships and Trials 16 year old Matthew Wilson took down his own national age group record in the men’s 200 breaststroke posting a time of 2:13.33.
Earlier in the year Wilson set the age group mark by posting a 2:14.18 at the New South Wales State Championships destroying Simon Cowley‘s 1997 record of 2:15.36.
Earlier in the competition Wilson took down another one of Cowley’s records in the men’s 100 breaststroke posting a time of 1:02.36.
As a 15 year old Wilson took the bronze at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships in the 200 breaststroke posting a time of 2:14.71, setting a national age group record in the process. He also set the national age group record in the 100 breaststroke at the same meet posting a 1:03.19.
Wilson has been training at SOPAC with Brant Best since 2013.

As far as i’ve heard Matt is under Adam Kable. and Brant I’ve heard only coaches Marieke D’Cruz, Nathaniel Romeo and Kurt Herzog
