WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – For the second consecutive week, the William & Mary men’s and women’s swim teams combined for 20 event wins, this week earning a pair of victories in the final home meet of the season. The women’s team secured a 164.5-97.5 win over Georgetown and the men’s team took down the Hoyas with a final score of 145-114.
In true senior meet fashion, the Tribe seniors showed out at home as Kat Vanbourgondien earned a pair of victories; Gavin Lamoureux earned a win and a top-three finish, in addition to a pair of winning relays; Kent Codding and Cole Younger made a pair of podium finishes; and Conor Sokolowsky earned a win and swam on a top-three relay. Aaron Tingley led off on the men’s winning 200 Medley Relay and Eugenio Massari swam on a pair of relay teams that made top-three finishes.
Lindsay Juhlin broke a pool and dual-meet record with her 100 Fly time, breaking the record she previously set in the Tribe’s last meet at home. Freshman Lauren Tucker broke a pair of pool records and a dual-meet record in the 1650 Free and 400 IM.
Sophia Heilen picked up a win and a first-place tie and freshman duo Aiden Bond and David Yune each took individual victories in two events.
The Tribe 200 Medley Relays earned two wins to kick off the meet as the women’s team of Vanbourgondien, Ellie Scherer, Sophia Heilen and Caroline Burgeson swam in 1:42.59 and the men’s relay of Tingley, Brock Rempe, Lamoureux and Bond made a 1:30.26 finish.
Tucker swam a blazing 16:56.20 in the women’s 1650 Free, shattering the 12-year standing pool and dual-meet record by over 16 seconds.
Sarah Dunham’s 1:54.27 mark was good for first place in the women’s 200 Free and Kelsey Katt placed second with a time of 1:56.27.
On the men’s side, Yune earned his first win of the afternoon with a 1:42.85 mark in the 200 Free.
In the 100 Back, Vanbourgondien took a win with her time of 55.78 and Julie Addison rounded out the podium with a 51.55 finish.
Graduate Student and fifth-year Tribe swimmer earned a victory in the men’s 100 Back with his 51.55 time and senior Kent Codding placed second with his 51.32 mark.
In a close race in the 100 Breast, Juhlin earned second place with her 1:04.29 time, less than a tenth of a second behind the first-place swimmer and Ellie Scherer’s 1:04.31 finish was good for third place.
Logan McDonald clocked in at 56.31 in the men’s 100 Breast to take the win and Rempe followed just behind with a second-place finish in 56.52.
Heilen earned one of her wins with a 2:02.86 time in the 200 Fly and Klinefelter made a top-three finish with a 2:08.20 time. On the men’s side, Zach LeMay finished third with his time of 1:55.16.
In the 50 Free, Caroline Burgeson (23.91) and Meghan Rourke (24.28) finished on the podium for the Tribe women.
On the men’s side, Bond swam a 20.68 for the win in the 50 Free and Lamoureux’s 21.31 added another podium finish for the Tribe. Bond followed in suit in the next event up, earning a win in the 100 Free with a time of 45.48. Logan McDonald posted his second podium finish, earning second place with his 47.24 mark.
For the women, Dunham and Burgeson each made their second top-three finish of the afternoon in the 100 Free. Dunham placed second in 51.76 and Burgeson posted a 52.70 time to round out the podium.
The Tribe men and women each earned wins in the 200 Back as Vanbourgondien and Yune each took first. Vanbourgondien made a 2:04.09 finish for first and freshman Julie Addison placed second with a 2:04.63 time. Yune’s 1:50.80 time was his second win of the meet.
Heilen tied for first place in the 200 Breast with a 2:18.38 mark and Kaitlyn Conover-Emmert placed third, clocking in at 2:22.22. On the men’s side, Younger made a third-place finish with his 2:05.83 time.
Sophomore duo Kiersten Dagg and Kelsey Katt each posted a podium finish in the 500 Free as Dagg earned the win with a 5:03.41 time and Katt took third place in 5:11.37.
Will Glass topped the men’s 500 Free, posting a 4:41.20 time for the win.
Juhlin overtook her own pool and dual-meet records in the 100 Fly, clocking in at 54.78 for first place.
Lamoureux earned the 100 Fly win on the men’s side, touching the wall in 50.37. Fellow senior, Codding, made a 50.96 time to earn third place in the event.
In the 200 IM, Kaitlyn Conover-Emmert places in the top three in her second event, finishing second with a time of 2:08.19 and Scherer made a 2:08.24 finish for third place.
Younger placed second for the Tribe, posting a 1:55.09 time in the men’s 200 IM.
Lauren Tucker broke the pool record in the 400 IM, posting a 4:28.21 finish in a time trial.
Rounding out the final meet at home, the 400 Medley Relay teams recorded a pair of wins and four top-three finishes to secure the victories for the Tribe. Dunham, Burgeson, Rourke and Flynn Truskett swam a 3:28.26 for the victory on the women’s side and the team of Bond, Yune, McDonald and Lamoureux earned a victory in 3:04.84 for the men.

The Tribe concluded their dual meet schedule with the pair of wins over Georgetown. W&M will travel to Charlottesville, Va., for the Cavalier Invitational on February 9-11 before hitting the road to Hampton, Va., for the CAA Championships on February 28-March 2.

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University’s men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams fell to William & Mary while the diving team swept Howard. The women’s team fell 164.5-97.5 while the men lost 145-114.
MEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
- Jack Januario and Connor Jellig went one and two in the 1650 free with times of 16:07.39 and 16:07.55, respectively.
- In the 200 butterfly, Tomo Nozaki and Gabe Gonda earned first and second place with times of 1:52.17 and 1:53.98, respectively.
- Stephen Kim picked up a first-place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:03.53.
- In the 200 IM, Jack Brearton finished first with a time of 1:53.12.
- Nico Santiago finished first in the 3-meter dive (354.60) while Hriday Parekh placed first in the 1-meter dive (323.10).
WOMEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
- Erin Hood finished first in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.21), the 200 breaststroke (2:18.38) and the 200 IM (2:06.42).
- Madeline Malone placed first in the 50 free with a time of 23.81 and the 100 free with a time of 51.60.
- Audrey Dietz earned first place in the 1-meter dive (272.05) and 3-meter dive (257.10).
