Wilkes Becomes XU Musketeer

Xavier University (Cincinnati, OH) snags a solid freestyler in Jenna Wilkes, as she commits to swim for the Musketeers next season.  Wilkes, out of Missouri, currently swims for Parkway South High School, as well as the Parkway Swim Club, where she has put up some strong distance freestyle best times throughout her career:

500y freestyle – 5:08.61
1000y freestyle – 20:34.00
1650 freestyle – 17:35.66

Wilkes earned seventh place in the 500y freestyle at the 2014 Missouri High School State Championships, where she also earned eighth place in the 100y butterfly.  Her 58.31 (prelims)/58.81 (finals) times, prove she can be a mean sprint butterflyer if the Muskies need her to step into that role, with five seniors graduating this spring.  Last year the Xavier Musketeers women finished third in the Big East Championships; Wilkes’ 500y free and 100y butterfly times would have place her in the B-Final at both events at those championships.
