College swimming recruiting videos matter. At SwimSwam we see them pop in and out of the top-5 stories all the time. High school swimmers, alums and fans always search them. Wheaton College takes it up a notch in this production. Considering it was produced by one undergraduate and not an athletic department, this video definitely gets 4 out of 5 stars. Impressive! In the near future, something tells me aerial drone shots will become the norm for college recruiting videos and not the exception.

What your are looking at is being filmed by no more than a toy that is no bigger than a square foot. NOT a drone. The dji phantom is successfully ruining the hobby for all passionate aerial photographers who have an actual appreciation for the hobby. Individuals with little to no experience completely ignore the rules put in place by the FAA. Unfortunately the dji phantom is idiot proof so anyone with the money can go out and by one. Be careful johny. Hit a baby with that and you’re screwed.

1) The DJI Phantom costs 500-1200$, it’s unlikely that a student bought one for giggles, unless he had other purposes for it (not just this video).
2) Who are you to say what hobbies one can or can’t take part in?
3) There are PLENTY of drones that allow you to attach cameras, many of which are sub-$100
4) Do you know what a drone is? You imply that the Phantom isn’t a drone because it is small?
5) No FAA rules were broken in the filming of this video.
