Week 8, Here They Come. Lochte and Burke Advance To Next Round of DWTS

During week 7 of Dancing with the Stars, the teams celebrated a century of music for Eras Night. While it seems that many are shocked to see Lochte still in the game, his dancing has improved greatly since the beginning. The next episode will push season 23 of the hit ABC show past its halfway point, meaning that all couples who survive for one more week are guaranteed of at least a top-half finish. Their score of 28 was tied fort he lowest on the night with Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev.

Taking on the 1990s, Lochte and Burke danced the Rumba. After getting a less than impressive score for their week 6 dance, the pair had a lot riding on this week. However, based on the judges feedback, their Rumba fell short.

The judges commented that he needed more energy and to make corrections to his technique. Head judge Len Goodman bluntly stated that “it wasn’t brilliant,” but he admired the star’s “pluck.” When asked how he would prepare for his next dance after hearing the judges feedback, Lochte admirably stated, “I’ve always had bad swims, and I had to forget about those swims and move on.”

Locate and his partner’s dance earned a low score of 28. Thankfully, the pair was not eliminated and will get a chance to prove themselves on next week’s show. One thing is clear, Ryan is giving this his all and really enjoying the process. He told cameras, “Dancing with the Stars has really changed my life, And it got me out of that dark hole. The people here are like my family.”

It would be interesting to hear from Mr. Lochte how the difficulty of training for new performances each week on DWTS compares to heavy training for the 400IM.

There are many other contestants who are great dancers so I don’t think he will prevail to the end, but he shows a lot of gumption to do the show. It can only help him. I never bought into hype of the Rio incident – the incident as he told it was accurate on the main points. The swimmers didn’t go there to trash the bathroom…there was a sign saying it was out of order. And the bathroom was not vandalized. Obviously they had to go badly – that’s the reason they got the taxi to stop so when there was no bathroom available, they peed in the back. And they had been drinking. Understandable. When they were confronted in… Read more »

Sonali:

Excellent analysis. Well thought out. You get it! Hopefully, he will win the trophy. He truly deserve it. Working hard and dedicating himself every day to this objective, just as e does to the Olympics and other related competition. I would wager than none of the asinine remarks about him are made by people who do not even possess 10% of Ryan’s skillsets. He has great fan backing and is driving the ratings.

Ryan’s having fun and it’s putting a smile on his face.

He gets along well with his partner Cheryl, and the other people on the show.

It will change his reputation a little after the brouhaha in Rio.

Maybe he’ll come to the realization he’s swum long enough and he’s ready to do something else besides pro swimming.

This is excellent! With that determination and dedication, he WILL CAPTURE THE MIRROR BALL TROPHY TO PROUDLY PLACE ALONGSIDE HIS 12 GOLD METALS! No one can boast of this amount of success! Maybe this will now silence the nonsensical naysayers with their imbecilic garbage. With the tumultuous year that he has had, it will be fitting for him to walk away with the Mirror Ball Trophy and the leading role in his new movie with Sharon Stone!

Re-read my prior posts and the one posted below to Sonali. . Your comment proves NOTHING. By the way, it might interest you to know that Bob Dylan did win the Nobel peace prize for Literature. Ryan’s proven versatility must be gnawing at you, is it not?
