2018 TYR PRO DERBY

Check out video of all eight winners of the TYR Pro Derby receiving their cash prizes on Saturday, as they competed in a three round, elimination style shootout 50 free in Louisville.

The competition saw eight female and eight male pros step up and race a 50 free, with the top six advancing to the second round and then the top four on to the third and final round. In the finals, each swimmer won some prize money, with the winner getting $4,000, the runner-up $3,000, and 3rd and 4th getting $2k and $1k respectively.

On the women’s side, Madison Kennedy showed the early speed with a 24.88 to open things up, but it was Margo Geer who was consistent throughout to ultimately win the title. She was 24.91 in the final round, her fastest swim of the day, to edge by Kennedy (25.02).

The men had a similar story, with Bruno Fratus lighting up round one in 21.74 before Michael Andrew (21.84) prevailed in the final over the Brazilian (21.87). You can check out our full live recap here. All race videos can also be found on SwimSwam.
