Below, you can watch the short film “The Swimmer” – a two-minute video about Walter Strohmayer, a 90-year-old who swims each morning.
Narrated entirely by Strohmayer, the film bills itself as focusing on “the power of ritual.” Strohmayer talks about his daily ritual of walking to the beach and swimming – something he’s done since he was a boy.
The film is directed by Blaise Hayward, and posted to Hayward’s Vimeo profile.

I enjoyed this very much. Thank you!
Hope to be Walter one day. And I hope my lady is with me….
I wished I could swim more, but I got brotchius bad this summer.
Bravo
Walter is amazing and truly inspirational. I absolutely loved this story.
He says, “I feel like a person in his forties ,the only time that I realize I’m not is when I look in the mirror.” When you look in the mirror I hope you see a champion.

I would love to be able to swim for free like he does! Memberships just for pools are expensive!
Inspirational and moving.
