Multiple records fell at the Tokyo stop of the 2016 FINA World Cup Series, including a 50 breast World Record courtesy of Jamaica’s Alia Atkinson. After narrowly missing the recorrd last week, she brought it down this time with her winning time of 28.64.
We also saw several Junior World Records fall in Tokyo. Japan’s Rikako Ikee was responsible for 3 of those records in front of the home crowd. She first knocked down the 100 fly record on day 1 before going on to set the mark in the 100 IM and 50 fly on day 2.
Australian Olympic gold medalist Kyle Chalmers lowered his own Junior World Record in the 100 free, bring home the gold ahead of Russia’s Vlad Morozov.
