Leading the way for the Seahawks will be Nihipali, the reigning NEC Swimmer of the Week and Walsh Electric Student-Athlete of the Month, who put together a stellar performance at the Frank Elm Invitational (Nov. 20-22) where she set four school records, two meet records, qualified for two NCAA “B” cuts all while claiming first place in two of her individual events. Nihipali will be competing in the 100 Backstroke and time trialing the 100 Free.
Along with Nihipali is Lucia, who both attended the 2014 AT&T Winter Nationals last year for the first time in Seahawk program history. Lucia will be competing in the 200 Butterfly as she did last year, attempting to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Trials.
Claesson, a junior breaststroker, qualified for the 2015 AT&T Winter Nationals when she broke the Wagner school record during a time trail in the 100 Breast at the Frank Elm Invite (Nov. 20-22) with a time of 1:02.81. She will be competing in the 100 Breast while in Federal Way.
