Arlington, Texas – Following a vote of the head coaches, the 2022-23 WAC women’s and men’s swimming and diving individual awards have been announced.
On the women’s side, Utah Tech’s Pia Murray and Grand Canyon’s Maria Brunleher were named WAC Co-Swimmer of the Year and Grand Canyon’s Abigail Erickson was named WAC Diver of the Year. NM State’s Naomi Slee was named WAC Freshman of the Year while Utah Tech’s Dan Kesler was named WAC Swimming Coach of the Year and Northern Arizona’s Nikki Huffman was named WAC Diving Coach of the Year.
On the men’s side, Air Force’s Wen Zhang was named WAC Swimmer of the Year and California Baptist’s Gael Jimenez was named WAC Diver of the Year. UNLV’s Kris Matuszewski and CBU’s Gael Jimenez were named WAC Co-Freshman of the Year. UNLV’s Ben Loorz was named WAC Swimming Coach of the Year and CBU’s Jeff Couto was named WAC Diving Coach of the Year.
