Leo Wang, of Centreville, Virginia, has announced his verbal commitment to swim for the University of Virginia beginning in the fall of 2017. Wang is a senior at Westfield High School in Chantilly, Virginia; he also swims for Potomac Marlins in Arlington.

At the 2017 Virginia High School League (VHSL) 6A State Swimming and Diving Championships at George Mason University in February, Wang placed third in the 100 breast (55.53) and swam the breaststroke leg on Westfield’s runner-up 200 medley relay.
Swimming for Potomac Marlins, Wang competed in the 100 breast at 2016 AT&T Winter Nationals, finishing 38th. At the recent Dolfin ISCA Junior National Championship Cup in Clearwater, Wang scored in all his individual events, placing fourth in the 50 breast, fourth in the 100 breast, and tenth in the 200 breast.
A USA Swimming Scholastic All-America, Wang’s top SCY times include:
- 50 breast: 25.89
- 100 breast: 55.53
- 200 breast: 2:07.56
Also expected to be in the UVA class of 2021 are: Cooper Wozencraft, Dylan Cudahy, Edward Rudman, Keefer Barnum, Matt Otto, Robby Giller, Sam Schilling, and Tristan Gess.
