Michael Andrew swam a 19.85 in the 50 yard free on Saturday night at the Jenks Sectional in Oklahoma, breaking the National Age Group Record that seems to, ironically, have been the hardest for him to get at the 13-14 level (among his wheelhouse events, at least).

California freshman Ryan Murphy earned another win with a 1:39.21 to win the event.

Arizona State senior Alex Coci made a huge leap to win the 200 butterfly, dropping 1.58 seconds from his morning swim to post a time of 1:42.97.

SCAD freshman Joel Ax broke the meet record in the 200 free on Friday night at the 2014 NAIA National Championships with a 1:36.71.

Race Video: 2014 PAC 12 Championships 100 Breast, Cordes Wins, 51.23

Cordes went 51.23 to wipe away the championships record set by Cal’s Damir Dugonjic back in 2009. That mark was 51.41. Cordes was his typically great self in the back half, coming home in 26.81.

Defending champ Josh Prenot won the event for Cal, dropping two seconds from prelims. His 3:42.20 is still a half-second off what he went in winning this race as a freshman, but it does move him inside the top 10 in the NCAA this season.
