The boys of SwimMAC took down the 400 medley relay 11-12 National Age Group record today at Tar Heel States with a 3:48.61. They destroyed the old record, set in 2014 by King Aquatic Club in Washington, by a over a full second. King has broken a bunch of 11-12 and 13-14 records in recent years, in part due to the speed from individual NAG record holder Ethan Dang. Now in the 13-14 age group, Dang still holds 11-12 NAG records for the 50, 100, and 200 breaststrokes, as well as in the 200 medley relay. Dang and King also own the 200 and 400 medley 13-14 NAG records, both of which were set just last week.
The quartet for SwimMAC was Nathan Adams, Stephen Kim, Baylor Nelson, and Brayden Brewer to combine for a 3:48.61.

Dang clearly had a huge advantage on the anchor leg for King, and despite him being their best breaststroker, Flores still put out a very respectable 1:00.27. Still, Adams got SwimMAC out to a better start, and the big swim for them came from Nelson’s fly split.
The record before King was a 3:50.33 set earlier in 2013 by NCAP.

Great swims, but unfortunatly these boys were not eligable to swim in the meet, therefore cannot swim time trials. Meet Ref/Admin not doing their job. SwimMAC rules, anyone elses do not apply to us!
Not to be “that guy,” but is this a sanctioned swim? Their meet info clearly states that time trials can only be performed by those with Senior Sectional time standards for the event they are time trialing, which these boys clearly do not have on an individual level. Relays are not part of the meet format. Do relays not fall under this rule for time trials?
