We are back with another great freestyle breakdown from Ashlee Linn! This is a super simple drill that anybody can do with a pipe or a stick which fixes the power of your pull, engages your core, and makes you depend on your legs more to work that kick.
As usual, Let us know what you think of this weeks drill! Recommendations for our next video topic? Let us know in the comments below!

I love catch-up still but found the pipe frustrating because it didn’t allow for shoulder roll – it killed my catch. ( Incidentally, introduced to said pipe by former club coach at Florida who took over my team when I was 15.) I still use catch-up as a coach but I limit anything that changes hand position or catch to occasional short, very specific drills.
Watch out for dropped elbows. I’ve seen tons of kids just pull their hands back from the pipes instead of actually establishing their catch.
Is this where Dressel trains? A 4 lane pool? Nice video also.
How wide should the pipe be? I am assuming it varies based on the size of the swimmer?
How should this be described other than as catch-up with a pipe and keeping your hands on the outside?
Thanks
