Video of Abbey Weitzeil’s 54.56 100m Free at CA/NV Sectionals

Abbey Weitzeil of Canyons Aquatic Club won the women’s 100 meter free in 54.56 at her home pool during CA/NV Sectionals on Thursday, July 16, 2015. Watch her take control of the race from the outset and put several body-lengths’ lead on the field by the 75-meter mark.

Weitzeil was slated to swim the 200m free at Sectionals but scratched prelims. She is also entered in the 50 free, scheduled for Sunday.

This race is Weitzeil’s last 100m free tune-up before she competes at the 2015 FINA World Championships in Kazan, Russia. Weitzeil and the rest of the US World Championships Team will leave on Tuesday, July 21 for Kazan.
