He’s back folks. In his pre-meet press conference before his first meet back to the sport of swimming in 6 months, Michael Phelps is excited to be back in Mesa, and has brought lots of news with him.
Among other things, Phelp’s touches on not seeking a spot on the worlds team, training towards Rio and 2016, and being the happiest he’s ever been in his life.
I want my own product line too.
Any predictions about his 100m fly?
I’ve just watched the full interview.
If I resume well:
1. MP will not swim at world championships.
2. It’s been a while since he has never trained as well and so seriously. The Greatest again has great feelings in the water.
1. I’m of course sad to not see him at worlds next summer but on the other hand that’s probably very wise. Russian officials will not be able to poison him as they planned to do it.
2. That’s probably not coincidence that both MP and Allison Schmitt look great right now at the same time. Both train again very hard and very conscientiously to relive their best moments in the water after… Read more »
Bobo, I laughed out loud at your Russian poison joke! Very witty! 🙂
Great use of the word “conscientiously” too! Swimswam is definitely improving your English!
It wasn’t a joke at all Danjohnrob! 😆
And “conscientiously” is definitely the hardest English world I have ever written. 🙂
In 2008 I was perhaps the only French guy who wasn’t sad of the men’s 4X100 free relay result in Beijing.
I was sad for the French team but at the same time very happy for Michael Phelps and his 8-gold medal quest.
I recognize that since 2000, every time the greatest is on the water, I support him, even against French swimmers. 🙂
Horrible questions. I don’t care about what he learned about his DUI. Michael Phelps is back in competition and swimming the 400 free. Why?
What does he think of all the fast swimming in Europe, Japan, and Australia?
Is he leaning towards sprints or middle distance. What about the 200 Fly????
How does he feel at 29? Does he think he can get near some of his 2008 times?
Does he feel Seliskar, Conger, or Shields will the guys to beat for the US team in Fly?
What does he think about other top swimmers stealing his turns.
What a wasted press conference on “feelings” and no swimming questions.
The day journalists will ask interesting questions at a press conference has not yet come unfortunately.
Seemed like a bit of a rehearsed transition into an advertisement.
I think the headline should actually read as “on” not “of.” I’m not trying to be a grammar nazi or anything. I’m just as bad as everyone else. Just a note 🙂
Torn between glad for the Aussie team, and sorry to not see him competing in relays. :-/ What a swimmer!
