Video: We Climbed A Mountain

Instead of our gear smelling like chlorine at the end of the day, today, it smells like football. Well, at least a football stadium. Dry-land workouts benefit every swimmer by the opportunity to focus on weaknesses in the pool and build strength that a generic swim workout couldn’t help with.

A favorite workout to the UF swim program is what we like to call ‘Gator Mountains’. To anybody else, they are just stadiums. Find your nearest stadium, arena, or set of bleachers, and simply walk up and down them till your legs burn. This is a valuable exercise because it works three main components to a swimmers arsenal. Underwater kicks, complementary cardio, and the amount of power your create in pushing off the wall. Give it a try, have fun, and feel the burn!
