KINGSTON, RI – Ella Church set a new meet record as Vermont capped a sensational weekend at the Harold Anderson Invitational on Sunday (Nov. 19) to claim first place in back-to-back years. The Catamounts finished with 849 points while host Rhode Island (752) and Wagner (529) rounded out the top three. Maine finished in fourth with 515.5 points and Holy Cross placed just behind in fifth with 507 points. Providence (366), Stonehill (110.5) and Assumption (61) rounded out the rest of the field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Church got Vermont off to another strong start on Sunday earning a first place, and meet record, in the 1650 free. Church finishing in a blazing time of 17:07.09, nearly 20 seconds ahead of the next closest swimmer.
- Jackie House earned her third individual victory of the weekend placing first in the 100 free in a time of 51.40.
- Vermont had two top ten finishers in the 200 fly. Hally Laney finished second in 2:03.16 and Kara Campbell placed seventh in a time of 2:10.15.
- Vermont finished their weekend placing second in the 400 freestyle with the combination of House, Havana Layton, Anastazja Szukala and Laney in a time of 3:27.98, 0.90 behind first, who set a pool record.
- The Catamounts 849 points at the invitational, were just four shy of their program record, which they set last season.
- In total, the Catamounts set four pool records and one Harold Anderson Invitational record over the weekend.
- With the Catamounts win at the Harold Anderson Invitational, Vermont Mutual will donate $100 to King Street Center in Burlington.
WHAT’S NEXT
After this weekend’s invitational, the Catamounts will have a few weeks off before returning to Forbush Natatorium when they host UMass on Saturday, December 2. The meet is scheduled to start at 12 p.m. and will be broadcast live on AmericaEast.TV.

KINGSTON, R.I. – The Providence College swimming & diving programs competed at the Harold Anderson Invitational in Kingston, R.I. on Nov. 17-19. The men’s team finished first out of five teams with a total of 875 points. The women’s team placed sixth out of eight teams with 366 points.
