Andrew Thompson committed to The College of New Jersey for the 2017-2018 season, where he will join his sister, Courtney Thompson, currently a sophomore on the Lions’ roster. Thompson is a senior at Saint Joseph High School in Metuchen, New Jersey. He swims year-round with the Raritan Valley YMCA.

“Since I went on my first visit to The College of New Jersey I loved the coaching staff and the atmosphere that the team brought to practice. The College of New Jersey is a phenomenal school and a perennial top 10 team in Division III. I can’t wait to swim with my sister for her last two years of swimming at TCNJ and I can’t wait to be a Lion!”

Thompson is primarily a backstroker/IMer. Over the last 12 months he has updated his best times in every single event, both SCY and LCM. Since the fall he has improved in the 50/100y free, 100y back, 100/200y fly, and 400y IM.

Thompson’s best SCY events are:

  • 100 back – 53.31
  • 200 back – 1:54.17
  • 200 IM – 1:56.84
  • 400 IM – 4:10.36
  • 100 fly – 52.53
  • 200 fly – 1:58.36
