USA Swimming Announces 2025 Domestic Schedule, No January Pro Swim Series Meet

USA Swimming has announced the dates and the majority of locations for its 2025 domestic meet schedule. The calendar features ten different events to be held at 15 different locations throughout the year.

2025 Schedule:

Dates Event Location(s)
Mar 5-8 TYR Pro Swim Series Westmont, IL
Apr 2-5 TYR Pro Swim Series Sacramento, CA
TBA Open Water National and Junior National Championships TBA
Apr 30-May 3 TYR Pro Swim Series Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Jun 3-7 National Championships Indianapolis, IN
Jul 23-26 Futures Sacramento, CA; Ocala, FL; Greensboro NC; Madison, WI; Justin, TX
Jul 30 – Aug 3 Speedo Junior Nationals Irvine, CA
Aug 5-8 TYR Pro Championships Irvine, CA
Dec 4-7 Toyota U.S. Open TBA
Dec 10-13 Speedo Winter Juniors East: TBA West: TBA

For the first time in two years, there will be no January TYR Pro Swim. Knoxville has played host to the January meet this year and last but in 2025, the Westmont stop will kick off the tour. The Westmont stop has stayed on the calendar since it was introduced in 2022 and keeps to the same weekend it raced this year. SwimSwam has reached out to USA Swimming as to why the earlier Pro Swim is not on the schedule for next year.

The Westmont stop is the only location that remains the same from this year’s tour as neither Sacramento nor Ft. Lauderdale hosted this year. Ft. Lauderdale held a stop of the tour in 2022, while this will be Sacramento’s first time playing host. Like this year they will also hold one of the five Futures meets happening in July. It’s the only location staying the same from 2024 to 2025 as Ocala, Greensboro, Madison, and Justin all move onto the calendar.

Another notable change is that senior and junior Nationals are two separate meets again after being combined this year. Though the location is yet to be announced, senior Nationals will presumably be the selection meet for the 2025 World Championships which will be held in Singapore from July 11 – August 3.

Other events that are still waiting for a location are the Open Water National and Junior National Championships, the Toyota U.S. Open, and Winter Juniors. The location for the open water championships is also still forthcoming.

Hi there! I recently started swimming again after more than a decade away from the sport. Despite having a shoulder that needs attention and only three weeks of training (4-5 times a week, under 45-minute sessions), I managed to clock a 50m freestyle time of 25.47 seconds. I believe I can shave at least 1.5 seconds off this time with the right support and coaching. I’m based in Columbus, Ohio, and I’m eager to find someone who can help me qualify for the TYR Pro Championships or similar competitions. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

January pro series was left off because nbc and USA swimming have not come to an agreement on broadcast rights. They had to publish the schedule so they left off January with the hopes of reaching a deal.

It’s for the best cause January TYR pro has been the worst year after Olympics. I remember 2013 in Texas, five girls entered in the four im.

With nationals in may and world champs where it is, there are a lot of elite athletes looking for a meet that weekend

So National Champs date will really suck for all high school graduates that week…. is it confirmed to be held that early in June?

Anyone know why the US Open and Winter Jrs are always back to back? Makes it hard for the younger kids who have made both.

If you read the press release from USA swimming (https://www.usaswimming.org/news/2024/07/18/usa-swimming-announces-2025-dates-for-its-domestic-events) it appears to state the National Championships are in Indianapolis, but says TBD in the table.

July 11 – August 3 in Singapore – but the dates by sport haven’t been defined yet.

Is the June 3-7 a typo for nationals? I was thinking it would be early July.

Let the jokes begin:

  1. So we’re going to have mixed relays now, that have nothing to do with pool competition?
  2. The stroke judges will have to take on additional responsibilities.
  3. Condom, shmomdom..I’ll just use a swim cap.
