At long last – we’re ready to announce our leaders after day 1 of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, with three event finals in the books: the men’s 400 IM, the women’s 400 IM, and the men’s 400 free.
We actually have a four-way tie at the top of the standings, including yours-truly, and rather than throwing up some ridiculous tie-breaker, our sponsor Engine has decided to give all of the day 1 winners a free pair of goggles. Those who were good enough to join me at the top of the table include. We’ll contact you via the email address you listed and (if permissible by your amateur status) get information for prizes:
1. Kevin
2. miws
3. Andrew
There were a lot of big scores on the first day. Check out the top performers below (by nickname), talk some trash in the comments, and check our Official Contest page for full standings.

Braden has a lot of practice at picking winners.Just check out his picks for NCAA’s and the entire college season. He is an amazing judge of talent. So I am not at all surprised he is at the top.
Keep up the good work!Thoroughly enjoying your coverage.
Counting down to FInals!
Is there any easy way to access our own picks? I hope you aren’t doing this by hand…
Why doesn’t Braden post his picks for the rest of the week, since it seems a little fishy that he’s at the top of his own contest?
I’d be glad to! Davis compiled the results to ensure a separation, but we can put mine up when we get a chance.
I’m managing the contest database and as much as I hate to say it, his picks are legit. I will be posting a PDF with all the picks later tonight.
thanks!
Psst – White font ain’t look so good on this page. Lovely on the contest page, though.
