University of Florida 14-time All-American swimmer Sinead Russell is “improving and out of danger,” her father Cecil Russell reports on Sunday morning.
Russell was hospitalized late last week with what was being called “Cerebral Venous Thrombosis,” or blood clots in the veins around and in the brain.
“She is improving and out of danger now,” Cecil elaborated in an email to the Burlington Post. “We are looking into how quickly the repair and healing will be done.”
Besides earning the maximum 14 All-America honors in two seasons at the University of Florida, Russell is also a Canadian Olympian and the Canadian Record holder in the 100 meter backstroke.
So thankful that you are having good news and that she is improving everyday. From our recent experience with Alex having the pulmonary embolisms back in October, I can’t say enough about the love and support that we felt from the GATOR team and families, and how Shands took such excellent care of him.
