The news continues to improve from California, where open water swimming legend Steven Munatones continues to improve a week after having a heart attack.
In the latest updates from his sister Stacey, Munatones has been able to get out of bed for a few short walks, and is eating whole food again.
Stacey’s description of Steve’s activities, including thanking all of the nurses and doctors in the hospital, which is indicative of the Steven Munatones that all of us have gotten to know.
The family continues to ask that Steven not receive visitors while he’s recovering.
Munatones is a member of the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame and a former USA National Open Water Swimming Team coach.
