Reilly Gilbert from Georgetown, Texas has announced his verbal commitment to swim at the University of Wyoming in 2020-21.
“I am SUPER excited and blessed to announce my verbal commitment to study and swim at the University of Wyoming! I am looking forward to spending the next four years with the amazing swimmers and coaching staff in Laramie. I am so thankful for all the coaches I have had throughout my life, my family and friends, and most importantly God. GO Pokes!”
Gilbert is a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American at St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School in Austin. He has swum on the team in 9th, 10th, and 12th grades and has twice served as captain. In club swimming he swims under coach Aubrey Knapper at Texas Gold Swimming and specializes in the full range of freestyle events and butterfly. At Des Moines Futures this summer, he competed in the 400 free, 1500 free, 100 back, 100 fly, and 200 IM. He finaled in the 100 fly and 200 IM, going best times in both events (57.18/2:10.20). So far this fall he has already lowered his lifetime bests in the 50/100/200 free, 200 back, and 400 IM.

- 100 Fly – 50.05
- 200 Fly – 1:51.84
Best LCM times:
- 100 Fly – 57.18
- 400 Free – 4:07.16
- 1500 Free – 16:11.24
The Cowboys finished third at the 2019 WAC Championships, just 14.5 points out of second place. Gilbert’s best times would have scored in the 200 free, 100 fly, and 200 fly.
