SAN FRANCISCO – California senior Trenton Julian was named the Pac-12 Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.
Julian, a Glendale, Calif. native, helped lead the Golden Bears to a dual-meet victory over Stanford on Friday, Feb. 19 by winning all three races he swam in. He set a pair of Spieker Aquatics Complex pool records in the 200-yard freestyle (1:33.53) and the 500 free (4:14.08) before swimming the third leg of Cal’s 2:51.11 finish in the 400 free relay.
Julian’s finishes in the 200 free and 500 free currently stand as the 10th and ninth fastest times in the nation, respectively.
Julian and the Bears have their sights set on the 2021 Pac-12 Swimming Championships, which start Sunday, Feb. 28 in Houston.
