TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University swimming & diving teams completed the third session of the Tiger Winter Open Saturday evening at Burdick Pool.
No team scores were recorded at the meet. The Tiger Winter Open serves to finalize the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championships meet rosters for the Tigers.
Tiger Winter Open Highlights
For the Women:
- Bridget Thomas recorded her second-fastest 500 free time of the year with a 4:57.63.
- Riley Willett was the top finisher in the 200 IM with a season-best 2:06.79.
- Claire Ryland finished with a 23.70 in the 50 free to take the top spot.
- Tiffany Matulis, Janine Murphy, Marissa Kleckner and Ally Frame finished with a time of 3:28.61 in the 400 free relay for first place.
- Britney Denny was the top finisher in the 100 fly with a season-best 57.97.
- Laura Gaffney took the top spot in the 200 free with a time of 1:54.43.
- Willett was the first finisher in the 100 breast with a time of 1:06.34.
- Addie Scott dropped a season-best 56.80 in the 100 back.
- Murphy, Tink Tompkins, Samantha Casolo and Tiffany Matulis took the top spot in the 200 medley with a time of 1:44.73.
- Thomas clocked in at 17:11.90 in the 1650 free.
- Willett, Victoria Dichak, Matulis and Laura Gaffney posted a 1:36.75 in the 200-free relay.
- Scott’s time of 2:01.58 in the 200 back was good for the top spot.
- Ryland was the first finisher in the 100 free with a time of 51.46.
- Maddie Frick recorded a 2:22.38 in the 200 breast for the top spot.
- Casolo posted a 2:03.93 in the 200 fly.
- Frame, Bella Brennan, Denny and Thomas took the top spot in the 400-medley relay with a time of 3:51.81.
For the Men:
- David Walton finished with a time of 4:40.42 in his second 500 free of the season.
- Kirill Pankov posted a season-best 1:51.69 in the 200 IM to take the top spot.
- Brian Benzing was the first finisher in the 50 free with a time of 20.69.
- Teddy Ament, Stephen McDonald, Evan Bota and Benzing finished first in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:04.88.
- In his first 100 fly performance of the season, Reed Sells took the top spot with a 51.59.
- Benzing checked in with a 4:01.02 in the 400 IM for first. Pankov was right behind with a 4:01.63.
- Sean Colson was the top finisher in the 200 free with a time of 1:41.40.
- Julian Maycock posted a 58.74 in the 100 breast, topped only by his times recorded at the Patriot Invitational earlier this season.
- Daniel McLaughlin swam a season-best 50.60 in the 100 back.
- Colson, Pankov, Bota and Luke Schwar clocked in at 1:32.27 in the 200 medley.
- Ament swam a 16:18.41 in the 1650 free.
- Schwar, Colson, Carson Bauer and TJ Bearor took the top spot in the 200-free relay with a time of 1:23.93
- Ian Hewett clocked in at 1:51.34 in the 200 back.
- McDonald was the top finisher in the 100 free (46.84).
- Pankov recorded a 2:03.32 in the 200 breast.
- Benzing took the top spot in the 200 fly (1:50.08).
- Colson, Schwar, Theo Dietrich and McLaughlin took the top spot in the 400-medley relay with a time of 3:22.37.
