The Towson University men’s swimming and diving program earned a 159-139 victory over the University of Delaware in a dual meet on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers won 10 and had 34 top-five finishes in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) matchup.
How it Happened
- Towson opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay as Nick Breschi, Ryan O’Leary, Jack Saunderson and Nick Essing combined for a time of 1:33.19.
- The Tigers had three top-five finishers in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Will Dougherty was the runner-up with a time of 9:42.47. Matt Kenney took third-place with a season-best 9:47.54 and Brandon Ress followed in fourth-place (9:53.75).
- Nick Breschi was the third-place finisher in the 200-yard freestyle, timing 1:43.96. Evan Brophy finished fourth (1:45.24) and Aaron Magazine placed fifth (1:45.25).
- Jack Saunderson won the 100-yard backstroke in 51.74, just two hundredth off from his season-best. Owen Robinson placed fifth with a time of 53.65.
- Towson swept the top three spots in the 100-yard breaststroke. Jeremy Liu timed 57.54 for the top spot, followed by Ryan O’Leary (59.18) and Ben Johnston in a season-best 59.86.
- Noah Pritchard won the 200-yard butterfly in 1:52.21. Stefan Keller finished third (1:55.55) and Matt Sieffert placed fourth in a season-best 1:55.68.
- Nick Essing timed 21.47 to win the 50-yard freestyle. Jack Saunderson placed fifth (22.33).
- Jake Casey was the runner-up on the one-meter diving boards with a score of 183.41. He won the three-meter diving boards in a season-best 203.47.
- Nick Breschi timed 46.98 to win the 100-yard freestyle.
- Matt Sieffert finished second in the 200-yard backstroke, timing 1:54.44. Colin Roddy took third-place with a time of 1:55.30.
- Stefan Keller finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke, timing 2:06.58. Ryan O’Leary took third with a time of 2:09.77.
- Will Dougherty timed 4:36.98 for a victory in the 500-yard freestyle. Matt Kenney took fifth with a time of 4:45.87.
- Noah Pritchard won 51.51 to win the 100-yard butterfly. Ben Johnston timed 52.94 for a fourth-place finish.
- Jack Saunderson was the runner-up in the 200-yard individual medley (1:55.18) followed by Nick Breschi in third-place (1:55.71). Matt Sieffert placed fifth (1:58.79).
- The 400-yard freestyle relay of Nick Essing, Will Dougherty, Ben Johnston and Brandon Ress won in 3:07.16.

Towson concludes the regular season when the swimmers travel to the three-day Nike Invitational, hosted by the University of North Carolina, from Feb. 3-5. The Tiger divers will travel to the JMU Diving Invitational, hosted by James Madison University, on Feb. 4.
