Top 3 Junior Swimmers in Each Event Through Rio Day 5

2016 RIO OLYMPIC GAMES

While swimmers like Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte continue to add to their Olympic medal career totals, the Rio Olympic Games serve as a first chance for many young swimmers to represent their respective nations on the Olympic stage. Some of the top junior swimmers for their respective countries are in Rio, so we’ve compiled lists of the top three 18-&-under swimmers in each race to give you a look at some of the swimmers who could possibly be the future of Olympic swimming.

This includes all swimmers who are 18 years old or younger as of the day of the race. In some of the races, there were less than 3 junior swimmers entered (M 400 IM, M 100 BR, M 200 FL). For those that advanced to semis and finals, we’ve used their fastest time of all 3 rounds.

Swimmers who finished in the top 8 overall are in bold.
