For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Aledo, Texas, native Hannah Farmer is heading south to swim collegiately at the University of Houston beginning in the fall of 2020.

Farmer was a finalist in both the 50 free and 100 breast at the UIL Texas 5A (smaller schools) State Championship in February. She was the runner-up in the 100 breast (1:04.31) and was sixth in the 50 free (23.62) in 2019 as a junior, while also being a part of Aledo High School’s 20th place 200 medley relay.

In 2018, as a sophomore, Farmer was third in the 100 breast (1:04.86) and fifth in the 50 free (24.11) at the 5A state meet. In 2017, as a freshman, Farmer placed fifth in the 50 free (24.03) and sixth in the 100 breast (1:06.93).

Farmer has qualified for the 2019 Winter Juniors meet in the 50 free (23.31 SCY). She also is qualified for the 2019 Futures meet in the 100 back (57.71 SCY), the 50 free (27.39 LCM), 100 breast (1:14.75 LCM) and 200 breast (2:41.49 LCM).

Farmer has swum for the Benbrook Community Center YMCA and also the Fort Worth Area Swim Team.

  • 100 Back – 57.71
  • 100 Breast – 1:03.85

Farmer’s top time in the 50 free would have tied for fifth-best on the 2018-19 Houston roster, while her best 100 breast time would have ranked fifth among the Cougars. Junior Peyton Kondis was 22nd in the 100 breast (59.83) and 30th in the 200 breast (2:10.30) at the NCAA Championships.

The Cougars won their third straight American Athletic Conference title in 2019. Sophomore Mykenzie Leehy was the runnerup in the 50 free (22.76), while Kondis was the runnerup in the 100 breast (59.84).
