Born Apr. 20, 1995 to parents, William Gibson and Cheryl King, Sarah Gibson has been swimming competitively since she was just 5 years old. For 10 years Gibson trained with Alamo Area Aquatics Association, coached by Larry Hough and Lou Walker. After graduating from Ronald Reagan High School Summa Cum Laude, Gibson chose A&M because it offered her the best chance of improvement, where she could reach her goals. She's a versatile freestyler - she can sprint and and swim mid-distance, even opting to swim in Open Water competitions. Texas A&M 2013-2014 As a freshman Gibson competed in the dual meet season. She swam at the Art Adamson Invitational, where she competed in the 50, 100, 200, 500, and the 1,650 freestyle. In the 500, 1,000 and 1,650 freestyle she had one of the top-five fastest times on the team. 2014-2015 After not swimming at the Conference meet her first year, she made top 'A' finals. She finished eighth in the 500 freestyle, 10th in the mile and fourth in the 200 freestyle at the SEC Championships. She qualified for the NCAA Championships, coming in as first alternate in the 5o0 and 27th in the 200 freestyle. 2015-2016 With each year of experience, Gibson took strides in the pool …
