I think if Regan Smith had to do it over again she would take it out faster in 200 backstroke. Regan swims noticeably more relaxed and effective either when leading by margin or while rallying. In tight company she tenses up and I know she’ll be beaten. It’s not uncommon. I see it in other sports frequently. The pace doesn’t matter nearly as much as the surroundings. There were 3 under Worlds FINA A but only Kieran (and only Kieran by .1) was under 2024 Olympic FINA A. Still not a great event for USA men.

2 into Finals @ OG’s and 1 medal. Looks pretty solid.

Yeah it was 3:46.78 for last summer too, right? Only Kieran was under that here.

Y’all running into the final women’s medley relay Huske/Curzan conundrum live @9m was great.

Prelim relay is super interesting. Toss up between Berkoff/White on back, maybe Douglass on fly, Brown or Hinds on free. Finals is almost certainly Smith and King on back/breast and then Huske and Cuzan taking the fly or free legs, tho who’s swimming which leg is prolly dependent on how they swim individually at the meet.
