SwimNation Aquatics is excited to announce the addition of two veteran swim coaches to its coaching staff.

Coach Alex Nieto joins us as an Associate Head Coach, who will also head up our Senior Group swimmers. Coach Nieto has 20 years of experience coaching USAS Club Swimming and is also the Head Coach of the Boys and Girls CIF Division 1 Northwood High School Swimming and Diving Team in Irvine, CA.

Coach Bryan Dedeaux will also be joining us as an Associate Head Coach and will lead our Age Group swimming program. Coach Dedeaux has over 20 years of USAS Club Coaching experience and is also a nationally certified Strength and Conditioning Coach.

“Both Coach Nieto and Coach Dedeaux bring an immense amount of coaching knowledge and experience, and their ‘athletes first’ mentality fits our team’s coaching philosophy very well”, says the Director of Aquatics and Head Coach of SwimNation, Steven Riches. According to Coach Riches, “Bringing them both together will help us seamlessly develop summer league or even learn-to-swim participants into elite athletes”.

Both Coach Nieto and Coach Dedeaux will debut their new coaching careers on Monday, August 19, 2024 at the Portola High School Aquatics Center in Irvine, the home of SwimNation Aquatics.

Irvine to dump swimming for Badminton. Certainly! The city of Irvine is moving forward with plans to build a municipal gym for around $100 million. The gym will be located on Red Hill Avenue near McGaw Avenue. While the designs for the gym’s interior are still unsettled, badminton will be a priority. This indoor city gymnasium will be the first dedicated facility in Irvine and will be available for year-round use 🏋️‍♂️💪Badminton in LA at Irvine.
