Rowdy lived and swam in the era of Tracy Caulkins. Dressel is amazing, but he needs to hold two more yards records to even match what she did. Simultaneous American records in the 100/200 breast, 200 fly, 200 back, 200/400 IM, and 500 free while holding long course WRs in the 200 fly and both IMs. She also held the 100 free AR at one point, and was 2nd in the 100 fly only to Meagher. She swam collegiate for three years and won 12 NCAA individual titles, never losing a race at NCs. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime talent, and without peer in our sport.

Dude, she was amazing. If not for the boycott, she was likely to win five or six gold medals in Moscow 1980. She came back and won three golds in 1984, both IMs and the 400 medley relay. Her margin of victory in the 400 IM was over NINE seconds. In seven years of elite swimming (1977-1984), she won 45 National titles, only broken by Phelps, and remains the only person ever to hold American records in every stroke. Like Dressel, she was a Florida Gator.

Braden, with all that Dressel has done, I think it might be time to write an article about the greatness of Tracy Caulkins.

Caeleb Dressel is not allowed to own a monopoly in corporate America, but he can own a monopoly in swimming! #JustNeedsTheBackstroke

He should just focus a few events in Olympics. It is not realistic for him to try so many events and jeopardise his other chances.

Good thing Phelps didn’t listen when people were telling him that in 04/08.
