Ryan!! You goof! After winning some hardware at the World Championships, the world record holder in the 200 IM stopped in Paris for some fun.

Missy Franklin collected some prize money at the Chartres stop of the FINA World Cup Series, as the freshly-made professional swimmer got some last racing in before a vacation prior to the fall season.

See that? If you swim, you WILL become president of a renowned university!

Taper meets and The Office, not sure which is better but thank you Mr. Pebley for combining both of them into one tweet!

Congratulations to American record holder and former World record holder Katie Hoff on her marriage with Todd Anderson! The two tied the knot yesterday, and you might recognize some of her bridesmaids…

It’s a trade-off: you win the 100 back national title, and your mom gets puked on while she’s sitting in the stands baking in the San Antonio heat. Shout out to parents.

Phelps set a new WR in the 200 fly on that day at the 2008 Beijing Games, and at U.S. Nationals he was within a second of that time…

Chad le Clos knows how to fire up MP, as the greatest-ever threw it down in the 100 and 200 fly as well as the 200 IM at U.S. Nationals. Phelps also swam in the 200 breaststroke, though despite Brendan’s wishes, Phelps did not break 2:10.

Indisputably #1 on our list due to sheer volume of retweets/favorites. Go you, man. Also, we now know that the Speedo is a flexible, worthy suit to twerk and do the worm in. Perfect for the club!!

#1 is the best! Personally, I think this video is going to make this guy very popular with teenage girls, if he is not already. The kind of confidence he shows in just making this video shows he is a winner!

#1 wins by such a large margin that I suspect PEDs are a factor in his performance. We need WADA to test him….oh wait I just heard from FINA and they think he is Mexican so they tell me no problema and hurry up and just give him the gold before anyone questions it.?

Floppy, Missy looks great. The lighting is crap so everyone looks crappy. And, Missy is older than she was in London; bodies, both men’s and women’s tend to fill out as the person ages. It is a natural progression.

Women have enough body issues, especially those on the world stage. If you don’t like commenting on womens’ bodies, don’t.

I don’t recall anyone having made comments about Phelps when he was looking out of shape; all I recall are te comments stating how fit he looked at nationals. Yet, when people think that Missy looks a bit out of shape, they feel free to comment. I guess thy think that women’s bodies are ripe for commentary while men’s… Read more »

I hope I didn’t hurt any feelings. Swimmers never have much room for body issues, so to be more specific:

I don’t think Missy looks too big. Actually the opposite. Her shoulders and upper arms don’t look as muscular as they have been. Those arms are a tool, not a judgement of Missy Franklin’s value.

And if you look back, yes, people have commented on Phelps’ fitness and physique a lot over the years – especially when he put on ~20 lbs between 2008 and 2012.

I was watching Nationals on TV over the weekend and my wife commented that most of the other competitors looked “doughy” compared to Phelps. No one’s going to be critical of his physique right now, that’s for sure. He’s ripped!

Floppy, KH had some lung issues earlier this year so I think she is taking some time off. Plus, she had a wedding to prepare for.

Reactions:

#9 – I hate to comment on female swimmers’ bodies (for obvious reasons) but Missy does not look the fittest she has been in that picture. I hope she crushes it this coming year.

#6 – Just realized the men’s medley relay was 75% Cal swimmers. Combined with the women’s medley, 7/8 swimmers train in the state of California.

#5 – I was wondering why Hoff wasn’t at Nationals… Who are the other swimmers in that bridal party?

Floppy, I hate to comment on commentators commenting on swimmers’ bodies but i think M.F. looks like she’s in terrific condition.

I think that’s Lotte Fris on the right? Not certain but she also trains with NBAC.
