Tri County YMCA Wild Waves Swimming seeks head swim coach.

Location: Scott Depot, WV
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Aquatic Director, the Head Swim Coach is responsible for administrating the total operation of the Wild Waves swim team program in accordance with the guidelines of the YMCA of the USA, the Tri-County YMCA, and USA Swimming. This includes program planning and daily management, age-group and senior level athletic development, oversight and development of assistant coaches, composition of daily, seasonal, and annual training programs, promotion of both competitive swimming and YMCA core values, and integration of team goals within the YMCA mission. The Head Swim Coach must have a clear understanding of the role of the swim team in relationship to it being a part of the aquatic department and a program offered by the YMCA in general.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, and or related experience.
Extensive knowledge of competitive swimming, physics of swimming and stroke mechanics, dryland development, and
NCAA, USA Swimming and National YMCA swimming rules.
Minimum of 2 years of personal competitive swimming experience.
Minimum of 2 years of coaching experience.
Experience to some extent in the following softwares: Hytek, Meet Manager, Team Manager, Team Unify, and Microsoft Office.
The incumbent must possess the ability to build genuine relationships with participants and maintain a welcoming and nurturing environment.
The coach must have the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of participants, parents, YMCA employees, and volunteers and the ability to do so within YMCA parameters.
This person must have the skills and organization ability to effectively manage staff, volunteers, equipment, and resources of the department.
Must complete any related YMCA certifications within 90 days of hire.
SALARY
$28000-30000
Additional Compensation Details:
12% employer paid retirement plan upon meeting eligibility requirements; health, dental, and vision benefits available with the YMCA paying 60% of premium; employer paid life insurance policy; family membership for staff and their immediate family.

ABOUT TRI COUNTY YMCA WILD WAVES SWIMMING
Rural not for profit YMCA/USA Swimming club with approx. 60 swimmers enrolled. Aquatic Center open in 2006, 25yd 6 lane lap pool with Colorado Timing System 6 Admin. Hytek, High School Swimming home to 3 schools. YUSA and ASHI Lifeguard training and safety awareness, liquid Cl and Muriatic Acid treatment, temp. is kept consistently 83 year round. Our Y is still young only about 26-27 years old, we serve Putnam County (one of the fastest growing counties in the state) The outlook is good for a candidate who is hard working, dedicated to character development, and has a vision for growth both in quality and quantity.
