Since posting NBC’s Olympic Trials television schedule earlier this week, we’ve been flooded with questions about how to watch it live-streamed, and we’ve been able to verify with NBC that yes, all sessions will be streamed live both on their website (here) and on the NBC Sports App (download here, or in your native App Store).
- PRELIMS on each day of the meet (remember there’s no prelims on the last day) will be free for all users to watch without authentication.
- FINALS on each day of the meet will be live-streamed, but will require users to log-in with their cable or satelite provider to

You need a subscription to NBC SN as far as I can tell. My niece is swimming prelims on 6/29, but cannot watch because I don’t have that channel. It’s not free like you stated above and still requires authentication (I tried earlier). Please advise as to how I can stream prelims live without a subscription to NBC SN if I am somehow mistaken. I cannot find a way.
freetvalldotcom, stream2watch and a few others. Yes, completely free…you do have to deal with a few ads that pop up, but free is free. You can watch as a guest, you do not have to sign in to any of those sites. **Warning – do not click on any of the ads and there is nothing to download – do NOT download anything!!** Just click on NBC, NBC Sports or whatever other channel you want to live stream that time. For people outside of the US, these sites will work for you as well. BBC and Canadian channels also live stream quite a few events – if you are outside of the geographical region – use a VPN and route… Read more »
Don’t forget, you still need a cable subscription to stream. As much as I hate not to watch prelims, I’m not caving in to the cable providers by buying 150 channels of garbage programming littered with ads. HD antenna for finals and the games, Amazon/Google/Hulu for everything else.
If you don’t pay for cable, you apparently don’t get to watch. (silently wondering why I can’t watch my national team be selected) I get the free market capitalism argument…. Off to find a free stream….
find one?
Yep, NBC is all greed. They only broadcast the signal for free over the air, anything online requires a cable subscription. It’s horrible that more and more customers want more flexibility in what they watch and how they want to watch it, but execs at companies like NBC could care less. ESPN is also going down-hill incredibly fast, losing millions of subscribers – why? Because they’ve been tied to cable-only subscriptions and more people are ‘cord cutting’.
I’d gladly pay $20 to watch the online stream alone, however I have no interest in buying an entire cable subscription of useless, low-quality content filled with ads.
Seriously. I don’t get why they aren’t making it an option to pay for trials only or Olympics only… could be a huge money maker…
any chance for europeans to watch the trials online? the nbc app is ‘not available in your country’ 🙁
can we follow the olympic trials live from Mexico I think nbc dont let us? or other page can we follow this?
I also have this question… trying to follow everything live from ecuador
Thanks for posting!!! I have my calendar set up with reminders!!
When you go on the app or on the website they do not list the prelims being broadcast, I hope this changes ASAP
Click on the link that Braden provides. It will take you directly to the page for the stream and you can see the message for Sunday. I would assume the app itself will have the link information closer to Sunday. That said, you click on the link from your phone and then stream that to your tv with chromecast, apple tv, etc.
