Two-time defending NCAA champs Stanford have risen to #1 in the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of American (CSCAA) dual meet poll for the first time this season.
Stanford was #1 in the preseason poll, but spent the regular season in either second or third. The Cardinal vaults from third to first in the year’s final dual meet poll, which came out today. Former #1 Texas has slid to #2 overall.
The biggest riser was previously unranked Arizona, which surged to 10th. The biggest drop came from Wisconsin, which was 17th in the last poll but 24th this week.

Will be interesting as we approach conference. Wolfpack Women have a real shot at ACCs barring any mistakes made on conference team selection. The team has some serious depth this year. BUT, if history repeats itself they probably still have not decided on who all is going which really throws a wrench in some girl’s taper. We will see.
As an SEC junkie fan, I too am impressed with Dan Colella the DUKE coach. Is he related to the old swimmer Colella from Washington?? Dan Colella,Lars Jorgenson of Kentucky and Jeff Poppell of Florida are the up and coming stars!!
If regards to SEC up and coming coaches, Gary Taylor of Auburn is making waves….. Matt Kredich, while not an up and comer, is one of the best.
Dan is actually a little long in the tooth to be an “up and comer.” Maybe back in the early 90s when he was the head coach for Tennessee women. Still talented .
Duke!! Looking good. Dan is the man!
