The St. Bonaventure University men’s swimming and diving team will be in action at the Reilly Center Pool to host Cornell in a dual meet on Friday.
The Bonnies last competed Saturday at Binghamton, ultimately falling to the Bearcats, 166.5-133.5.
The Brown and White earned six total first-place finishes. Senior Michael White captured three events: the 200-freestyle, 200-backstroke and 200-IM. Ben Galinski came out on top in the 1,000-freestyle at 9:54.58, while Alex Szakelyhidi finished second with a time of 10:06.39. The 200-medley relay team of Matt Taccard, Preston Schilling, White and David Shakhnazarov finished second with a time 1:36.54. Ryan McLaughlin swept both events on the diving board.
Cornell last raced against Columbia on Jan. 15, falling 175.5-124.5. The Big Red won five individual events and set a Teagle Pool record in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:30.33. Vincent Declercq won both the 100-fly (1:51.24) and the 200-IM (1:55.74). Earlier this season, St. Bonaventure and Cornell both competed in the Akron Zippy Invitational from Dec. 2-4. Cornell came out victorious in the three-day meet, besting all eight teams with a total score of 1,950 points.
Action against Cornell is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. with diving and swimming at 3:30 p.m.
