Southern California’s Mandy Schatz Makes Verbal Commitment to Wyoming

Anaheim, California-native Amanda (“Mandy”) Schatz has made a verbal commitment to the University of Wyoming beginning in 2015-16.

“I am excited to become a cowgirl at the University of Wyoming because the school has a great swim program that I have wanted to be a part of since I was young.”

Schatz is a senior at Esperanza High School in Anaheim. The fly/free specialist is the reigning Century League champion in the 100 fly, and has been top-eight in every event she’s ever competed in over the last three years at Esperanza (50/100/200/500 free and 100 fly). Schatz has been invited to the highly competitive CIF-Southern Section Division I (largest schools) Championships both her sophomore and junior years in the 100 fly, 50 free, and 500 free.

Schatz also swims at FAST Swim Team in Fullerton, where she trains in the distance freestyle group. Most of her best distance free swims come from long course season, and her top times include:
