Southern Cal Nabs Local Talent Parker Seale

Parker Seale from La Jolla, California, has announced his commitment to swim for the University of Southern California Trojans as part of the Class of 2021.

Seale is a sprinter who swims for La Jolla High School (where he is also a member of the water polo team) and Wind N’ Sea Swim Team. At last year’s San Diego Section II finals, Seale tied for first in the 100 yard breast (56.77) and was the runner-up in the 200 yard free (1:40.86). He also swam on the victorious 200 medley (26.12 breaststroke split) and 400 free (44.88 split) relays.

He has Winter Juniors cuts in the 100 yard breaststroke and 50 meter freestyle. He also has a Summer Juniors cut in the 100 meter breaststroke.

His best times are:

Event  SCY LCM
50 Free  21.30  24.30
100 Free  45.87  53.32
200 Free  1:40.39  1:57.25
100 Breast  56.77  1:06.13
200 Breast  2:10.21  2:27.49

Southern California has a tradition of breaststroke excellence. Last season (2015-2016), the Trojan men had 5 different swimmers go under 54 seconds in the 100 breast. As evidence, the Southern California school records in the men’s breastroke events are swift—52.01 in the 100 breast by Vladimir Morozov, and 1:52.50 in the 200 breast by current senior Steven Stumph.

Notably, the women’s team has already nabbed NAG record-holder Maggie Aroesty (58.98 in the 100 breast) for their incoming class, and has Olympic Champion Rebecca Soni as a graduate of the program.

By the time Seale arrives on campus, he will have two years to train alongside current sophomores Carsten Vissering (52.44 100 breast) and Billy Monjay (54.85 100 breast). He will also have one year to train with Olympic freestyle sprinter Santo Condorelli.

Seale joins Justin NguyenJake Sannem and Nikita Tretyakov as part of the Trojans’ incoming class of men’s swimmers.
