The final evening of the Scottish Championships began with Tom Laxton taking the gold in the men’s 100 butterfly in a time of 53.96. Braxton Timm who took the silver in the 50 butterfly earlier in the meet found himself in the same position in the 100 butterfly finishing second in a time of 53.77.
Brendan Hyland finished third in a time of 54.74.
Rebecca Turner took the women’s 100 freestyle in a time of 55.99. Emma Wilkins finished second in a time of 56.27. Camilla Hattersley added a bronze to her medal collection, after winning gold in both the 400 and 800 freestyle, posting a time of 56.75. Hattersley was also the top ranked Scottish swimmer.
Nicholas Grainger won the men’s 200 freestyle in a time of 1:48.93. Grainger took the bronze in the 400 freestyle earlier in the meet finishing behind Stephen Milne. This Milne could not get the better of Grainger finishing second in a time of 1:50.87. With that time Milne also collects another Scottish Championship.
Matthew Parks finished third in a time of 52.04.
Elena Sheridan took the women’s 200 butterfly in a time of 2:12.21. Scottish swimmer Tain Bruce finished second in a time of 2:14.53 followed by Stephanie Blakeburn who hit the wall in a time of 2:15.07.
Shane Ryan won the men’s 50 backstroke in a time of 25.53 followed by Joe Elwood who posted a 25.87. Charlie Boldison collected the bronze in a time of 25.99.
Lewis Smith picked up both the win and the Scottish Championship in the men’s 400 IM touching in a time of 4:23.97. Smith also won the Scottish Championship in the 200 IM, but finished second to Roberto Pavoni. Fraser Minnican took the silver in a time of 4:30.03 followed by Joe Poynter who finished in a time of 4:32.76.
In the final individual event of the competition Meg Finnon took the gold and the Scottish Championship in the women’s 1500 freestyle posting a time of 16:45.91. 14 year old Antoinette Neamt finished second in a time of 16:50.00 followed by Rebecca Smith who recorded a 17:13.08.
