If you have a commitment to report, please send an email with a photo (landscape, or horizontal, looks best) and a quote to [email protected].

Sierra Cripps is not only the captain of the Seymour High School swim team – she’s also the captain of the school’s softball team. Cripps fits the bill of a true ‘two sport star,’ but has opted to pursue swimming in college and verbally commit to Seton Hall University.

Cripps is a 3-time all-state swimmer based out of Seymour Connecticut and the Woodbridge Aquatic Club. As a junior, she finished 2nd in the 50 free (24.96) and 4th in the 100 fly (59.46) at the Connecticut State Championship meet.

Lifetime Bests (SCY)

  • 100 Butterfly – 57.03
  • 200 Butterfly – 2:04.29
  • 50 Freestyle – 24.43
  • 100 Freestyle – 53.14

She improved her time in the 50 free by about 4-tenths as a junior, dropped almost 2 seconds in the 100 free, over a second in the 100 fly, and over a second in the 200 fly.

According to her Max Preps stats page, the 5’10” utility player hit .460 as a junior with 36 RBIs and 5 home runs. The Seymour softball team went 22-2 last season, with one of those losses coming 3-2 in the state quarterfinals.

Sierra’s Quote:

“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to Seton Hall University! I would like to thank all of my families and friends who have supported me through this process! I am so excited to continue my academic career as I spend my next four years studying Nursing! Go Pirates!!!”
