Shelby Township’s Amanda Hudson to Stay In-State; Gives Verbal to Oakl

Eisenhower High School (in Shelby Township, Michigan) senior Amanda Hudson has given her verbal commitment to join the Golden Grizzlies at Oakland University next fall.

Hudson, who swims on the Eagles Varsity team, has been a four-year state qualifier, placing fifth in the 100 back (57.97) and 15th in the 200 free (1:55.79) at the 2014 MHSAA Girls Division I Swim & Dive Championships.

Most recently, Hudson helped the Eagles capture their second Macomb County Championship; she won both the 200 free and 100 back individually, breaking her own County record in the 100 back, and was a member of two of the Eagles’ winning relays, including the record-setting 200 medley. Hudson earned Swimmer of the Meet honors for her performance.

Hudson has been swimming since the age of six with the Utica Shelby Swim Club, attending Junior Nationals in the 100 and 200 back. She is a 2015 USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and was also named the 2014 Macomb County Swimmer of the Year.
