The NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships will take place in Greensboro, North Carolina from March 16-19, 2016. A total of 527 participants (479 swimmers and 48 divers) will compete in the championships.
Kenyon (18), Emory (18), and Williams (16) qualified the largest number of women; it isn’t surprising therefore that they are at the top of the projected team rankings. Denison will bring only 10 swimmers but they come in with 3 of the top 5 relay times so the Big Red packs extra punch. Emory will be aiming for their seventh consecutive national title, and while they don’t have as many top-ranked swimmers as Kenyon and Williams, the Eagles have tremendous depth.
The projected team scores will change around a little bit once diving scores can be added in. With two diving events at the NCAA Championships, a good diver or two can make a huge impact on the outcome of the meet. Of the top four teams vying for the Division III national championship, only Kenyon and Williams scored diving points.
