The Iowa State women hosted Texas Christian University on Friday, January 14th through Saturday, January 15th.
This was the TCU women’s first meet since their mid-season. Iowa State competed against in-state rival Iowa on December 10th.
The TCU women won 9 out of 18 events of the meet including three out of four relays but came up just short as they lost to Iowa State in a score of 173-161. TCU was led by sophomore Serena Gould who captured individual victories in the 100 (52.45) and 200 (1:52.75) freestyles. Her 100 freestyle time was her best dual-meet time of the season. Gould was one of at least seven women at Arkansas who had entered their names in the transfer portal since March 2021. She began at TCU in fall 2021 with three years of eligibility left.
Freshman Anna Kwong won both diving events for TCU. She won the 1 meter with a score of 296.50 and the 3 meter with a score of 315.90.
Iowa State was down by 15 points after day 1 but came back to win the meet on day 2. Leading the way for Iowa State individually was senior Lucia Rizzo. Rizzo won the 100 butterfly in a time of 56.84 and the 200 IM in a time of 2:05.96. She is the school record holder in the 200 IM with a time of 2:00.13. Rizzo also finished as runner-up in the 200 butterfly swimming a time of 2:05.72 right behind sophomore teammate Winter Craig who won the event in a time of 2:05.27.
Iowa State swept multiple events helping them to victory. The team swept the 200 butterfly and the 200 breaststroke. Senior Martha Haas led the way in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:20.01 and was followed by senior Lehr Thorson who swam a time of 2:21.65. Haas and Thorson also went 1-2 in the 100 breaststroke as Haas swam a time of 1:03.62 and Thorson swam a time of 1:04.27. These times were not the fastest Haas or Thorson have swam this season in dual meets.

- 1000 freestyle: Lisa Johnson, TCU (10:22.17), first time swimming the 1000 this season
- 100 backstroke: Emily Haan, Iowa St. (56.65)
- 50 freestyle: Olivia Rhodes, TCU (23.79)
- 400 freestyle relay: TCU (3:28.30)
- 400 medley relay: Iowa St. (3:49.59)
- 200 backstroke: Liz Richardson, Iowa St. (2:04.06)
- 500 freestyle: Brinley Horras, Iowa St. (5:02.92)
- 200 freestyle relay: TCU (1:35.59)
The TCU women have their next meet scheduled for Friday, January 28th at Incarnate Word with a tri-meet against Incarnate Word and Rice. The Iowa State women are set to compete against West Virginia and Villanova on January 22nd at West Virginia.
