Both the SCAD Savannah women’s and men’s team continued to build leads over their opponents on Day Two of the SCAD Invitational at Chatham County Aquatic Center in Savannah, Georgia.

After a 1-2 Emory sweep of the 200 medley relay, led by Hannah Baratz, Kike Afolabi-Brown, MacKenzie Brosnahan, and Amelia Anderson in 1:37.58, the Bees came bounding back with a 1-2-5-6-7 finish in the women’s 200 fly. Senior Hannah Legg led the way for SCAD with a 2:05.53 win. Emory’s Ava Salmi won the 200 free in 1:52.19 ahead of Brenau’s Courtney Hayward (1:52.89) and Abigail Richey of SCAD (1:53.42).

Emory racked up points with five of the top eight finalists in the women’s 100 breast, but it was Brenau’s MK Jabbia with the win in 1:05.54. Four more Eagles made the 100 back A final but SCAD freshman Kandes Soapes took the title in 57.42. Soapes just barely held off a hard-charging Lindsay Dowling of Brenau. Alison Mai of Emory fought off Brenau’s Hayward to win the 400 IM in 4:29.48. The A final of the 50 free was all Emory and Brenau, with the win going to Emory’s Baratz in 24.47.

Brenau (Dowling, Jabbia, Alisha Hodgetts and Hayward) beat SCAD (Soapes, Alle Ragland, Cadie Crow, and Haley Thompson) 3:56.84 to 3:58.68 in the 400 medley relay. SCAD’s depth was on display all evening, however, as the Bees loaded up B finals, and won most of them to boot.
