The San Diego State University Aztecs took down rivals, the University of San Diego Toreros for a final score of 145-131. The Aztec girls started the meet on the right foot with a 1-2-3 finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The A team of Kate Santilena, Cecilia Zaccarelli, Summer Harrison and Sami Guttmacher touched the pads in 1:44.92, just ahead of teammates on the B team (1:47.21) and C team (1:48.64).
The Aztecs continued to garner valuable points with a 1-2 finish in the 1000-yard free when Francesca Arredondo clocked in in 10:15.73, ahead of her teammate Cori Casper, who finished in 10:29.47. Arredondo went on to win the 500-yard free, in 4:59.16, ahead of teammate Martina Marks (5:04.82).
The Toreros showed their strength in the 200-yard free event, with Jackie Taylor finishing 1st and Mackenna Briggs finishing 2nd, in times of 1:53.02 and 1:54.05 respectively.
Santilena and Zaccarelli went on to win the 100-yard back (57.31) and 100-yard breast (1:05.84) events respectively. Their teammates Harrison and Alexandria Caplan were both double winners. Harrison won the 200-yard fly (2:02.99) and 100-yard fly (54.99) and Caplan took victories on both diving boards, scoring 323.78 points on the 1m and 342.38 on the 3m.
